Thunderbird Radio Hell features live bands usually every second week. Most of the bands are from Vancouver, but we have hosted Billy Childish, Uz Jsme Doma from the Czech Republic, Frightwig, Bobby Joe Ebola and the Children MacNuggits from Berkeley CA, Royal City and More Plastic from Toronto Canada. When there are no bands, I will normally DJ and play local and/or mostly Canadian music that I like or I wanna check out.
Ed Laslo (also known as Kid Kordene) named and founded the show in the mid eighties. I was his idea to have bands and he donated an eight channel board to the station. Nardwuar took over the show in 1989. He had the help of many others over the years including Adam Sloan (recorded most of the Cub 7 inches etc, Jinx from Brand New Unit, Tara who works with The Organ (local Vancouver band), Coreen Wolanski, Andrew Amy from Seventh Image and me, Evan Symons . When Mr. Serviette himself no longer had time for show (mid year 1999), I took over as host. Currently we are fortunate to have the soon to be famous Irene helping with as well as Mike Breen from Lavish and Shrimpmeat.
Anyhow, I'm finally getting around to transferring a lot of the recordings that I have on DAT tape and hopefully the reel to reels that we've collected over the years. I'm starting this page to publish Thunderbird Interview Hell which can also be found in Discorder magazine.
The first band to be featured is Lungbutter from Stratford Ontario Canada.
